I have designed this file for 1/8 inch material. If your material is a different thickness, you will need to adjust the slot sizes. This will fit together snugly in my tests of 1/8" baltic birch, but you will want to add glue to secure it as it will be handled and the interior pieces are delicate.

This lantern is a combination of acrylic pieces and painted wood. The interior scene features 4 different pieces, a cardinal on a pine branch, a bare tree and two sizes of pine trees. There is a hole in the bottom of the base for lights to be strung up into the lantern during assembly. I used led fairy lights.

I have included a 3 page pdf of instructions on how to assemble the lantern which includes many pictures for your reference.

All of the wood pieces will fit just barely on a standard glowforge size sheet - you will need to make sure you have your material lined up so it doesn't cut off the sides of the material. I nested everything as snugly as I could do use just 1 sheet of wood material. The acrylic pieces will use about 5 1/2 inches x 12 inches so you could get 3 sets from a glowforge size sheet if you choose to make multiples of this.
